It’s Walk Through Wednesday again!
This week’s video shows the demolition and construction progress at the Family Healing Center in Mount Oliver Borough.
Located in the old Mount Oliver School building, when complete, this property will operate as apartments and facility space for families with young children where at least one parent (or caretaker) is in the post-detoxification phase of recovery from addiction.
This will be the first housing model in the nation that allows for the family unit to remain in-tact, living together, while receiving individual and group therapy in one setting. Hence the name, The Family Healing Center.
ACTION is proud to be a part of this project with Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Auberle, UPMC, and looks forward to construction completion, lead by Nelcon Inc General Contracting, in early winter 2021. Upgrades to the building include life safety improvements, structural upgrades, installation of an elevator, specialized program and recreational space for adults and children, and more!
Check out the demolition progress and what the building currently looks like inside by watching our video below. We will post more updates as construction continues through this summer and fall. Enjoy!
