When the Centre Avenue YMCA (now Centre Avenue Housing) was being renovated in 2020, the project did not have enough funds to support the restoration of the historic gymnasium–an important amenity for the building’s residents and a fixture of the surrounding community.
That all changed when The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation stepped up mid-way through our residential rehabilitation efforts and contributed funds that significantly improved the building’s gymnasium and elevated track.
We can’t express enough thanks to The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation for supporting our project and ensuring future generations of athletes can continue using one of Pittsburgh’s most important and historical athletic facilities.
