Housing Proposal Aims to Boost HUD Budget for Affordable Housing Units

DarlingtonACTION-Housing’s Executive Director, Larry Swanson, was recently interviewed by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about a new legislation that could significantly increase HUD’s budget to develop more affordable housing.

A new legislative plan introduced by Rep. Dwight Evans, D-Philadelphia, and supported by Rep. Mike Doyle, D-Forest Hills, calls for $63 billion infusion into a range of HUD programs, including $400 million for Section 811 and $1.5 billion for a related program that provides housing for low-income seniors.
Read more about this proposed plan and the impact it could have affordable housing in Southwestern Pennsylvania (and throughout the country) in this Post-Gazette article: https://www.post-gazette.com/…/Mik…/stories/202104250017
