Since June 2020, Centre Avenue YMCA residents have been eating delicious and nutritious meals prepared by a local non-profit, Community Kitchen (who operates out of another ACTION-owned property in Hazelwood.) This connection was a result of foundation support and Allegheny County Government’s emergency response to COVID-19 last year and has been a great success from the start. Residents receive two free meals per day: lunch and dinner. We are very grateful for this partnership and the opportunity to serve those who are facing barriers including achieving financial stability, food security, and more.
