ACTION-Housing, Inc.'s Foreclosure Prevention helps Allegheny County homeowners who are at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure. These homeowners are often unfamiliar with the legal process and social service delivery system. The Foreclosure Prevention program recently helped approximately 60% of its clients to avoid foreclosure. Plans are under way to enlist banks in identifying mortgage holders at risk of or in the first stages of delinquency so ACTION-Housing, Inc. may provide assistance earlier.

The first Passive House in Western Pennsylvania is now complete. A project of ACTION-Housing Inc., the home is a prototype for affordable housing that drastically cuts energy consumption by 85 percent. An open house celebration will be held tomorrow, November 1st, at the newly-constructed home in Heidelberg.
